“No Place in Heaven” è il titolo del disco atteso per il prossimo 15 giugno. Il brano sarà in tutte le radio e in digitale a partire da venerdì 1° maggio.
“Good Guys” è un brano scritto da Mika con la giovane artista americana Skyler Stonestreet e parla dell’ammirazione dell’artista per i suoi eroi gay adolescenziali, citandoli per nome. Quando Mika ha iniziato a scrivere il suo nuovo album “No Place In Heaven”, si è trovato a riflettere su quanto ancora ammirasse questi artisti e quanto ambisse ad arrivare ad un livello espressivo elevato come il loro, da qui l’idea di comporre questo testo. La canzone è un divertente omaggio a due classici americani : “Where Have All The Flowers Gone” famosa canzone pacifista di Pete Seeger e resa famosa da Joan Baez e “Where have all the cowboys gone” brano di Paula Cole del 1994 che racconta la storia di una donna che sogna la sua vita accanto ad un cowboy e a cui fa riferimento la prima strofa del singolo.
Dopo il successo dell’album di debutto “Life In Cartoon Motion” e dei successivi album “The Boy Who Knew Too Much” e “The Origin of Love”, il quarto album di Mika, “No Place In Heaven” arriva al termine di due anni intensi di lavoro creativo dell’artista. Mika ha prodotto il nuovo album in collaborazione con Gregg Wells (Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Adele, Rufus Wainwright e Mika stesso), produttore già nominato ai Grammy. Ne è nato un album più maturo dei precedenti, che rivela il talento di scrittura dell’artista e mette in risalto le capacità vocali di Mika, evocando in particolare i grandi classici album pop degli anni ’70 di Billy Joel, Todd Rundgren ,Elton John, ecc.
Questa estate Mika sarà in tour in Asia e Europa. Barley Arts ha annunciato sei date in Italia tra Giugno e Settembre.
